Family Care Center has been the recipient of 3 service projects from Eagle Scout candidates within the last 6 months. Will Guptill from Troop 234 provided the children at FCC backpacks they can check out and use. The backpacks contain age appropriate and fun math and science projects the entire family can do together. Will also planned and executed a Family Day in the parking lot of FCC. Families could go from table to table and test their skills and dexterity with fun tasks including an egg drop, water cannons and more. Also from Troop 234, Andrew Howard completed a trail and serenity garden for the families to use while at FCC. The garden includes benches by a creek and plantings for all to enjoy. David Lucadou from Troop 387 built, installed and planted window boxes for our Newton apartments, where he also provided two new porch benches. Additionally, he landscaped around the playground in the back yard of our Longview duplex. All these service projects have enhanced the lives of the families we shelter as well as our properties.
